Welcome to SMEI and thank you for becoming a member. In doing so, you are joining a community of music educators from a wide variety of music learning and teaching contexts. We invite you to take an active part in our society through joining us at conferences, seminars, workshops, AGMS and other events organised by the society.

Membership benefits include reduced rates at all SMEI events, discount on Taylor & Francis publications and the possibility to apply for some professional opportunity grants. You will receive regular updates about music education events that may be of interest to you. In addition, SMEI has international links through its membership of ISME’s Council of Professional Associations and has ties to such organisations as European Association for Music in Schools (EAS).

SMEI also welcomes your voice. As a member you have voting rights at our General Meetings (AGMs and EGMs) but we also invite you to contact us at any point regarding any music education matter that may be of concern to you.
